Administrative Appeals Tribunal
What does this Tribunal do?
The Tribunal is an independent body which reviews a wide range of administrative decisions made by Australian Government Ministers, other tribunals, departments, authorities and other agencies.
Who can appear?
People who are dissatisfied with the decision of a Commonwealth Minister, a government department or agency, or an employee of a department which affects you may be able to have that decision reviewed.
Apply to the Tribunal can be done in the form of a letter of an application form.
Time Limits
In order to appeal the decision at the tribunal you must lodge the application within 28 days of receiving the decision.
Tribunal’s Location
The Tribunal’s principal registry is in Sydney and Brisbane. There are also registries in each state.
