What does this court do and who can appear ?
The Chief Industrial Magistrate’s Court has both civil and criminal jurisdiction under a broad range of State and Commonwealth Legislation.
The Court hears matters such as:
- Recovery of money owing under Industrial Instruments, for example, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and Statutory Entitlements.
- Prosecutions for breach of industrial instruments.
- Appeals from various administrative decisions (Licenses); and prosecutions for statutory breaches.
Court Location
The court’s only location is in Sydney, Level 4 Downing Centre 143-147 Liverpool Street.
